The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is a once-in-a-generation undertaking. Not only will the project deliver much-needed transportation improvements for international travellers, it will also provide jobs and opportunities for growth to the Windsor-Detroit region and includes features that make this project truly distinctive.
The project is being delivered through a public-private partnership. The Gordie Howe International Bridge project will create jobs on both sides of the border during construction and many permanent jobs in the operation of the crossing. Bridging North America anticipates the creation of 2,500 jobs including direct hires, sub-contractors and seconded individuals, as well as significant economic benefits that extend to the whole region.
